ABOUT AMB

"United through MUSIC, to TEACH the HARMONY of LIFE!"

The Augusta Mass Band is comprised of students from schools in the CSRA under the directions of certified music instructors. The AMB is designed to teach, build, and reinforce fundamental techniques through the medium of marching band. With the absence of section leaders, students work together and learn teamwork and social skills necessary to complete task.

We focus on building musicianship, self-esteem, self-discipline, self-respect, and a general love of music. Rehearsals are held at the Academy of Richmond County located at 910 Russell Street in Augusta, GA. Site may change, but will be noted on this website and twitter feed.

We practice both in the band hall and outdoors. You will need to bring your instrument, a music folder, bottle of water, comfortable clothing, and a good attitude to every rehearsal. Bringing these materials will ensure your success as a musician, and the overall success of the band.

To be a member of the Augusta Mass Band, you have to be a member of your middle/high school band program. You have to be in good standing with the program as well. Being in good standing requires attending rehearsals, performances, and good discipline. You will have to complete a medical form and information sheet.
